Trappes and La Verrière: one dead and at least four wounded, an open counter-terrorism investigation

A man opened fire from a car on Friday, 23 October 2026 at about 10.30 a.m. in Trappes and La Verrière, Yvelines. One person was killed and at least four others injured, including a 12-year-old. The 39-year-old suspect was arrested in the neighbouring commune of Coignières. The New Obs, BFMTV and franceinfo describe the same series of shootings.
